What is SBL?
Service Based Learning (SBL) fulfills one of three graduation requirements for the State of Indiana called, "employability skills." It includes all the requirements of Saint Joseph High School’s service program plus written assignments.
Completion of SBL includes all the following:
- 20 logged and approved hours of service.
- The SBL Proposal
- 1st Reflection
- 2nd Reflection
- 3rd Reflection
- 4th Reflection
- A SBL final project
- Presentation of the final project
These assignments can be found in the SBL Canvas course. This is also where assignments are submitted.
Students complete SBL during sophomore year or when a student transfers into Saint Joe junior or senior year.
Successful completion of SBL appears on a student's permanent transcript.
