Peer Ministries
FIRE flex
Fire flex is a dedicated flex classroom where intentional formation in discipleship occurs under the guidance of theology teachers and the director of pastoral ministry. Currently there are two such flex rooms at Saint Joe comprising about 48 students ranging from 10th to 12th grades. These students are considered Peer Ministers in our school, and assist with retreats, liturgies, small groups, and all things related to the sharing of the faith at Saint Joe. Who can be in FIRE flex? Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 may be a part of FIRE flex. However, students in all grades are welcome to participate in peer ministry activities such as: morning and afternoon prayer leaders, lectors, ushers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Catholic students only), altar servers, small group leaders, and liturgical choir. Interested students may speak with Mrs. Baglow, Deacon Andy, or their theology teachers.
Living Stations of the Cross Passion Play
This year will mark the 5th anniversary of the current Living Stations of the Cross Passion Play being performed at Saint Joe. It is a beautiful, moving reenactment of the Passion of Our Lord beginning in the Garden at Gethsemane. Students serve as stage managers, producers, and performers in the production. The students who portray Our Lord Jesus and Our Blessed Mother each year are nominated by their peers and the faculty and staff. The criteria? Being living witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their daily lives here at Saint Joe. Performances this year will take place April 1, 2027 at 10 AM (school performance) and 7 PM (public performance). Parents interested in helping in any way with the production may reach out to Mrs. Baglow at cbaglow@saintjoehigh.com
