INdiana Quiz Bowl
Saint Joseph won the NAQT State title for the seventh consecutive year, amassing a record of 10-1 against the top teams in the state. The team won their first eight games handily, including beating Mishawaka, Culver Academies, and archrival Harrison. The team then narrowly lost to second-place Carmel, 320-360. Meanwhile, Carmel had adventures before getting to the final, losing to Harrison and eking out a win over their own B team.
With both teams 8-1 at that point, but Carmel having won the head-to-head game, Saint Joe had to beat Carmel twice in a row to win the title. The Indians did not disappoint, first coming from behind to win 375-235, then stomping the Greyhounds in the deciding match 535-125.
The competition was fierce, with upsets all day. In addition to the wins by lower-finishing teams such as the aforementioned ones, Carmel B beat Harrison, Culver Academies beat Carmel B, Mishawaka beat Culver and North Central, and both Zionsville and North White beat Mishawaka.
