INdiana Quiz Bowl
Hosted by Ancilla College and sponsored by the Plymouth Rotary Club, the younger of the two state championships featured plenty of exciting games this year. When the dust had settled, however, the champions of the two classes were familiar: North White repeated as AA champ and Saint Joseph three-peated in AAA. [There were not enough schools to have a Class A division.]
The only Indiana team ranked in the top 100 in the nation at the time, Saint Joe put up impressive numbers in winning their round-robin. In the advantaged final, the Indians played keep-away from Culver on the bonuses to complete a 405-295 victory. The third-place trophy had to be played off between Harrison, Mishawaka, and Riley due to a "circle of death"; Harrison emerged as the winner from that group.
North White had to endure a double round-robin against the other four schools and were almost unchallenged, save for a narrow 40-point win against second place Delphi.
