Welcome to Saint Joseph's High School Guidance Department Saint Joseph's Guidance Department certainly recognizes the challenges that students face in determining how best to prepare for the life ahead of them. That's why our guidance counselors work closely with students – and parents – from freshman registration through graduation. Each student is assigned a guidance counselor upon registration. We help students select the courses that will help them achieve their goals, then help them stay on track to meet those goals, whether they plan to continue their education beyond high school or go into a particular trade or profession. Students or parents may make appointments with the guidance counseling staff at any time during the regular school day by calling the Guidance Counseling Office. Please check out PrepHQ, a new website that St. Joe is using where counselors can post important information about colleges, scholarships, summer program opportunities and much more. You can access the website by clicking HERE! The student needs to register and you can use their account as well, only have them add your email address. Our website is divided into three categories: Academics, College Information and Support Groups and Services. These categories will have subcategories, which will hopefully make it easier for you to find the information that you are seeking. Guidance Mission Statement The mission of the Saint Joseph's High School Counseling Program is to enable all students to experience success by providing guidance in the areas of academics, career, and citizenship development; counseling to help students to overcome challenges that interfere with learning; and advocacy for an environment that supports high achievement for all students. Through the school counseling program, students become successful learners, productive citizens of a global society, and are prepared to serve God, the Church, and the world.
